Golden Beach

The development of Pelican Waters has awakened interest in neighbouring Golden Beach, a sleeping giant until recently.  Previously regarded as “God’s waiting room”, Golden Beach is now attracting a greater mix of families and semi-retired professionals looking for their place by the sea.

Best Feature: Best beach-side accomodation close to Caloundra

Located to the south of Caloundra and north of Pelican Waters, Golden Beach overlooks the Pumicestone Channel and Bribie Island as Bells Creek forms the southern boundary.

Predominantly an older residential suburb, Golden Beach offers buyers the choice of original 1950's beach cottages, 1960's and 70's vintage brick homes, including newly-developed apartment complexes.  Looking for proximity to the coast? Many buyers have found the cost of buying and rebuilding or refurbishing in the older parts of Golden Beach comparable to newer housing developments located further from the coastline.  This has seen the revitalisation of older parts of Golden Beach into a more modern beach-side community. Golden Beach also offers some of best beach-side accomodation close to Caloundra CBD with an array of cafe's, local shops, restaurants and widespread parklands.

There’s the powerboat club and boat ramp, Golden Beach tavern, Golden Beach State School, medical centre, bowls clubs and a fabulous little shopping strip with a bakery famous for its lovely lemon buns.  While the coffee culture is developing here, you still have your old-style fish and chips and boat and catamaran hire.  Sporting clubs are well catered for, with indoor basketball, outdoor netball, AFL and rugby league fields.
