Kings Beach was named after the King family, the first residents in the area. After living in Moffat Head, in James Moffat's home for awhile, they move to Kings Beach in 1893. Within Kings Beach boundaries is Wickham Head, a headland, which the hospital ship, the AHS Centaur is believed to have been sunk in 1943.



 



Everything you could possibly need is just a few minutes walk away; along the esplanade you will find an array of boutique stores, some you would never see any where else as well as a variety of cafe's and restaurants including the popular Saltwater Kings Cafe' and Restaurant where they have some of the best fish and chips. Kings Beach cafe's also cater for vegetarians, vegans and sell gluten free foods!
